There have been long lists enumerating the firsts that are taking precedent in our country during the run-up to the run-offs. There are innumerable differences amongst fellow citizens that have been played up, creating schisms through tactics of wedge politics that will take decades to mend.
With the Democratic Party nomination of Barack Obama people are playing a guessing game as to who will be chosen as the running mate. Others claim that too much emphasis is being placed on this selection.
There hasn't been this strong of a dialog of change where even the party of conservatism is co-opting the word for their cause.
It seems that people up until now have given up hope on any real idea of things being different. The bottom line of course comes down to people's livelihood, and when enough pressure is put on enough voters, there grows a willingness to wake up and take action. Barack Obama speaks directly to this, saying things that politicians don't often speak to.
It's best to get it straight from the source. Here are Obama's words directly, as delivered in St. Paul, Minn. yesterday.
