Intriguing points were made by Stephen Pizzo in a recent blog post covering the pros and cons of impeaching the Bush administration at such a late juncture. Although it must be said that just the action of US Representatives actually bringing charges against Bush puts another stain on his legacy.
Articles of impeachment were brought forth by Representatives Dennis Kucinich and Robert Wexler as almost a token slap on the wrist;...too little too late if you ask anyone that would actually like to see the proceedings carried-out. There's talk, though, that this may potentially damaged the Democrats chance at securing the Executive Branch in November. It's as if people with convictions were still too scared to stand up against the bullies and do the right thing. Just a reminder that politics are a popularity contest.
