A Party United

The clearest and most concise article that I have read lately in an effort to make sense of the recent developments in both camps of the Democratic Party came via Mary Shaw, posted bright and early on The Smirking Chimp. In a clear tone that doesn't resort to sensationalism or double-speak, The author spells out point for point the reasons why a reactionary shift to the Right would be an incredible disservice to America and the rest of the world.

The current administrations embarrassing track record of torture, bloated national debt, special interests, and lies are what we will continue to see if we let the "neo-con"regime continue to hold sway over this nation.

With so many Democrats actually considering this option, one must ask what the bottom line truly is for these people.If they were actually standing for a cause, instead of an icon, then they would take the current situation at hand and put their efforts into a cause that actually has some promise to it. To have a people shoot themselves in the foot like this would be way too ideal for the Republican cause.

With the amount of spin that is perpetually being generated, in the media, people need to take a sober view of the situation and analyze the chess board, and try to think ahead a few moves. I understand it is a lot to ask of our modern fickle society to not get caught up in latest drama that is so eloquently manufactured for us to lose sight of the obvious pressing issues to we face as a nation.

It seems that rejecting more arrogant fat-cats in office would be a moot point. This is if you would consider Clinton supporters/defectors actual idealists that really do want a change from the status-quo. Plenty have their own agendas that they envisioned Hillary Clinton privy to carrying out once in office.

Hopefully, in the next couple of months these folks will realize that solidarity does a people good.
